We have analysed the first months of data collected in the fifth science run of LIGO to look for gravitational wave signals from known radio pulsars. The S5 run promises unprecedented sensitivities for these targets. We present a status report from this investigation, using pulsar timing data taken prior to S5, and consider the implication for a search based on a full year of S5 data.
