The cores of clusters of galaxies are very hostile environments. The hot gas held in hydrostatic equilibrium in them emits copious X-rays and in turn cools to form cold molecular gas. This cooled gas acts as the fuel for the central massive black hole and drive AGN outbursts that heat the cooling gas. This feedback loop is believed to be the same one that regulates the formation of massive galaxies at high redshift (z>2). We propose to use Mopra to detect the cold molecular gas in eleven of the optically most line luminous systems through their CO(1-0) emission to understand the interaction of the cold gas with the optical, X-ray and radio structure of these galaxies.
