We propose to observe the Lupus Cloud Complex for the class I methanol maser transition at 7mm. This is a region of low mass star formation. Low mass star forming regions exhibit many outflows and are known to contain plenty of methanol so detections of methanol masers are expected. Despite the fact that low mass star formation is well understood, little is known about the role class I methanol masers play in these regions. This is because most class I masers have been detected towards class II masers which are only present in high mass star forming areas. This project aims to address this observational bias by investigating class I maser activity in one low mass star forming region. This study will allow us to characterize the processes and physical conditions that produce methanol masers.
