We propose to continue our search for Be + white dwarf binaries in a sample of nearby open clusters with ages of 50-130 Myr. XMM-Newton has discovered a class of Gamma-Cas-like hard Be/X-ray emitters, two of them being found in open clusters in this range of ages. These massive stars could harbour the long sought white dwarfs accreting from the Be circumstellar envelopes. So far no such Be + white dwarf system has been confirmed and as long as none is found the models on which our understanding of massive X-ray binary evolution are based remain suspect. Making the census of Be + white dwarfs binaries also allows to select between the different models explaining the Be phenomenon.
