In an Earth-bound laboratory, we have improved the sensitivity of the spin-coupling experiment by two orders of magnitude using a paramagnetic salt with a DC SQUID to search for a possible axion-like 0264-9381/13/11A/018/img1 interaction of a rotating mass with a paramagnetic salt. Two orders of magnitude more improvement in the Earth-bound laboratory is envisaged. Here we propose to use a similar scheme for a space spin-coupling experiment. Both paramagnetic materials and ultra-soft ferromagnetic materials are considered.
