A rigorous solution of Poisson's equation for finite thickness disk galaxies at the symmetric plane is obtained by integral transformation, under the assumptions of a radial galactic density spiral disturbance distribution and the Green function solution for Poisson's equation in the case of infinitely thin disks. The perturbed gravitational potential analytic solution is also given for cases other than the symmetric plane. Several phenomena tallied with observations and the '3 kpc arms' of the Galaxy can be explained on the basis of these solutions, and a method of determining the thickness of galaxies is devised.
