The three basic rover missions currently under study by the French scientific community which will use the Automatic Planetary Rover are addressed. This rover will use two types of elements on the surface of Mars: delivering of fixed stations for seismology, magnetism, and meteorological measurements; and mobile vehicles for the study of a great diversity of terrains by means of geophysical profiling and in situ analysis. The French scientific objectives of the next Mars mission are presented.
