The analytical data on the April 25/26, 1976, 6300-A nightglow described by Cogger et al. (1980) were reanalyzed using new parameters for the calculation of the 6300-A intensity. Unlike the earlier analysis, the recalculated data agree with the measurements. The major reason for the initial discrepancy was found to be the product between the beta-1 and the thermal rate coefficient k-1, which is 0.6 of the value adopted by Cogger et al. in the earlier analysis.
