In the present investigation the problem of the quantization of an open
homogeneous isotropic model of the universe with elastic gas is exactly
solved. The equation of state for a low-density gas corresponds to the
case of dust-like matter; for a high-density gas it corresponds to the
ultrarelativistic case.
