It has now been show that it is feasible to measure the 7Be neutrino source in the sun by using the reaction 81Br(ν,e-)81Kr in a radiochemical experiment. Such an experiment would be quite similar to the Davis, Cleveland, and Rowley method for measuring the 8B neutrino using 37Cl(ν,e-)37Ar except that the resonance ionization spectroscopy (RIS) method (instead of decay counting) would be employed to count the 2×105-yr 81Kr atoms.
