Fresnel and Kirchhoff made the proofs for Huygens' principle for the
propagation of light respectively. In this paper, another proof for this
principle is given, in which, by using Poisson's formula for the
three-dimensional wave equation with initial-value conditions, the
back-travelling waves are cancelled by the conterterms.
