Radio Sources: Jets, Jets: Blazars, Jets: Relativistic Plasma

In order to interpret the general evolutional properties of radio outbursts in blazars a prolonged injection jet-model is proposed. It is assumed that relativistic plasma consisting of magnetic field and relativistic electrons is prolongedly injected with relativistic speed at the base of the jet and subjected to adiabatic expansion loss as it moves outwards along the jet axis. It is shown by the theoretical calculations that the spectral evolution of radio outbursts has the pattern of 3-stage evolution suggested by Valtaoja et al. They reproduce the general behaviour of radio outbursts observed in blazars very well.
