This poster outlines the methodology and the quality assurance tests used to generate a catalog of 24 μm point sources from the "MIPSGAL" survey. We briefly describe the pipeline to detect and extract 24 μm point sources from MIPSGAL survey plates. We present the method used to reject false detections (detections due to small extended emissions that appear point-like) and saturated sources. We have tested the pipeline on the 1st quadrant 24 μm MIPSGAL data. Here we report on some of the analysis of these data that include but are not limited to completeness and reliability tests, photometric and astrometric accuracies, and initial attempts at band merging the MIPSGAL and GLIMPSE datasets. The total number of sources in this version of the catalog is 644594 with signal-to-noise ratios greater than 3. Our analysis shows that we can reliably extract point source fluxes in the range of 1-1000 mJy.
