The observation on August 3, 1981 of a sudden fast brightening of Mu-Cep, done with the Belgrade polarimeter using 4-sec integration intervals, is reported. The amplitude of the brightness change amounts to 0.034 stellar magnitude in the V spectral region, and the standard deviation of the measurements is + or - 0.011 mag. It is shown that the shape and duration of the disturbed portion of the light curve of the observed event evokes those of an ordinary M-dwarf flare.
