UBV photometric observations of the eclipsing binary BW Eri are reported, together with an analysis of the resulting light curve. The measurements were performed at the La Silla Observatory in 1976-77 and at Cerro Tololo in 1976. No definitive characterization of the spectral type could be confirmed, although the observed colors were consistent with an unreddened A8V star. The secondary star is suggested to be described by a G8V classification, using the fractional luminosity and fractional radii, or a K5V, employing mass ratio data. The system is concluded to be in either a detached or semi-detached state, with the primary filling its critical volume.
