Thermoscan maps of Mars made by the Soviet Phobos mission are discussed.
Thermoscan's mode of operation that provides greater sharpness of detail
and more accurate temperature measurements is described. Thermoscans of
the Schiaparelli crater and the Valles Marineris are shown and
discussed.
