Two-Body Problem: Stability, Two-Body Problem: Binaries, Two-Body Problem: Gravitational Field
Scientific paper
The problem of planar motion of a system from two gravitationally attracting bodies, one of which is a sphere, is considered. The stability of stationary motions is studied. The main point of the paper is a parametric analysis of conditions for transfer from stability to instability and/or gyroscopic stability. The results may be applied to an analysis of dynamics of double stars. A brief review of previous publications dealing with these questions is given.
