The rate of lengthening of day is reanalysed from the astronomical data
of Stephenson and Morrison over the period 1860-1980 and its tidal and
non-tidal components are recalculated over the same period. It is found
that the overall agreement is marginal, compared to the level of
disagreement reported by Peltier, and Stephenson and Said, for example.
