A new white-pupil mounting (called the SUPERCORAVEL mounting) for astronomical spectrographs is described. This mounting combines a Czerny-Turner (C-T) with a focal reducer; the focal reducer is catadioptric; its collimator is a mirror identical to the C-T mirrors; and a dioptric objective is placed in the second pupil to provide the necessary focal reduction. The primary dispersion is given by an echelle grating, while the secondary dispersor just before the objective is a prism at minimum deviation followed by a grism. Orders are more or less parallel to pixel lines and equidistant.
