The design of a spectrometer especially useful for the FIR is presented. It is called the 'mini-spectrometer', because of its very small geometrical dimensions, and it utilizes the pressure dependence of the spectral sensitivity of photoconductive detectors. Two units suitable for producing the required pressure (a piezo column and a superconductive coil), as well as a solid-state pressure sensor, are investigated in detail. The reconstruction of a spectrum is discussed.
