A new neutrino telescope project, HANUL, is a proposal to explore high energy neutrinos from various cosmic accelerators. The proposed detector is a muon magnetic spectrometer with Cherenkov detectors to measure the sign and momentum of the upward going muons generated by charged current interactions of neutrinos inside the Earth. The area covered by the active detectors is about 1000 m2 and the detectors are to be made of many small modules. The author discusses what is unique about this proposal compared with other neutrino telescope projects.
