Elliptical Galaxies: Angular Momentum, Elliptical Galaxies: Internal Motions

Scientific paper

A new method to derive the kinetic energies associated to rotational and
random motions from the observed rotation curve and velocity dispersion
profile of elliptical galaxies is presented. The method also provides an
estimate of the virial mass and of the total angular momentum.
