The authors present a new 2 - 5 μm infrared camera, using an hybrid 32×32 HgCdTe/CCD array for seeing-limited resolution imagery. The performances are background-limited at 3.5 μm, whereas the limiting sensitivity at 2.2 μm has not yet been reached. The whole camera system is described; it provides a real-time 16/32 bits processor which appears to be indispensable for background-limited imagery. Preliminary observations made with this new instrument are presented and the first results are discussed.
