We present a new generation of dynamical model atmospheres for AGB stars
based on a combined solution of time-dependent hydrodynamics and
frequency-dependent radiative transfer. We discuss the variable
structure of the atmosphere and the resulting synthetic spectra, as well
as the dependence of these properties on fundamental stellar parameters.
