The authors have improved the Wallace and Woosley estimates of the 19Ne(p,γ)20Na and 15O(α,γ)19Ne reaction rates at stellar energies by using the most recent experimental and theoretical data and a firmer theoretical background. They find a considerable increase in the 19Ne(p,γ)20Na reaction rate at temperatures T9 ≤ 0.3, which may lead to a greater production of intermediate mass elements in the rp-process in stellar evolution.
