Infrared Spectrometers: Optical Design
Scientific paper
In order to take maximum advantage of the solid state imaging detectors now becoming available for use in the infrared, an advanced grating spectrometer for use initially at 1 to 5 microns has been designed for use as a common-user instrument for UKIRT. As part of this design study the performance of the spectrometer when used on an 8 or 16 metre telescope has also been investigated.
