Multiline molecular observations toward the Sandqvist 136 dark globule have revealed a spectacular enhancement in the abundance of silicon monoxide and methanol molecules at the lobes of the associated bipolar outflow. The spatial distribution and broad line profiles of the SiO and CH3OH emission indicates a common mechanisms of the excitation of these lines: shocks. The authors conclude that the shocks created by the interaction between flows and the surrounding medium play a major role in the production of these molecules.
