The conceptual design, the manufacturing process and the production of a
mu-metal mesh to screen from the geomagnetic field, the 15'' Hamamatsu
phototube, contained in the optical module of the underwater neutrino
telescope NESTOR, are described. Some measurements of the efficiency of
the mesh are reported.
