A Monte Carlo generator for heavy nuclei collisions has been developed by combining our generator for p - air collisions (inspired by the dual parton model) with the extended abrasion - evaporation model. The abrasion phase determines the participants according to Swiatecki's formulae. The pre-fragment excitation is also correlated with the impact parameter and the evaporation steps (p, n, 0954-3899/22/10/012/img7, fragment) are described using the theory developed by Campi and Hüfner. This generation mechanism is attractive as it reproduces the heavy-ion collision data observed at 200 GeV/nucleon and can be easily inserted in the simulation of cosmic cascades initiated by primary nuclei.
