Motion of P/Encke over the last two centuries was investigated assuming the nongravitational effects as a daily change of the semimajor axis of the comet's orbit. It is found that a variability of the nongravitational effects can be approximated by a sinusoidal function of time, the parameters of which were determined from observational equations along with corrections to the orbital elements. This model of the comet's motion allows the observed perihelion times to be represented to within 0.025 of a day.
