A modified theoretical model of the magnetopause in the noon-midnight meridian plane is proposed. A pressure balance equation is given that takes into consideration both the theory of Beard for parallel incident solar wind particles and the turbulent plasma in the magnetosheath by using an angular distribution function. A variation of the intensities of the two different particle streams shows the effect of nonparallel incident particles on the shape of the magnetopause in the meridian plane. The geomagnetic latitude of the neutral points decreases with increasing density of particles having an angular distribution.
