A model for the evolution of the H I cloud spectrum consistent with a picture of the interstellar medium regulated by supernova explosions (McKee and Ostriker, 1977) is presented. The net effect of evaporation of the clouds in the hot coronal gas, and of collisions with supernova remnants before and after the radiative phase are considered. Besides these interactive effects with the intercloud medium, the collisions among clouds are examined with respect to possible fragmentation. The model predicts a depletion of low mass clouds due to evaporation.
