The tasks of the receiver optics in sodium lidar experiments, and requirements for a measuring campaign instrument are discussed. The optical components are presented. The control system of the primary mirror of the telescope is described. For this control, the adjusting laser system was analyzed and optimized. A systematic measuring procedure for the primary mirror was developed. The adjustment of the telescope using the preliminary adjustment of the secondary mirror is described. It is shown that mirror errors require a modification of the setup. The receiver lobe in measuring situations was calculated. Experience with the telescope during the campaign is summarized. The efficiency of the global receiver was calculated. Possibilities to improve the experiment are discussed.
