During observations of γ showers with Cherenkov telescopes the background light conditions can vary, resulting in shifts of the values of the HILLAS image parameters. These changes increase when working with low 'tail' cuts for image cleaning. Here we present a first approach for correcting some of the variations. First tests of the method are carried out with HEGRA CT1 data.
