The energy spectrum of unaccompanied hadrons is measured with the large
hadron calorimeter of the KASCADE experiment. From the measured flux at
detector level the primary proton spectrum at the top of the atmosphere
has been derived. The flux obtained is well compatible with results of
direct measurements.
