This work focuses on the general principles and choices behind Earth
boundary layer parameterization of thermals in order to assess their
applicability to Mars. A new thermal plume model is then proposed and
implemented based on a modified version of the Earth LMDZ GCM thermals
[3], yielding significant improvements.
