Distorted images of background galaxies produced by using gravitational lenses and their implications for the Hubble constant and for the mass distribution of the lenses are investigated using various parametric models. These models satisfy all of the lensing constraints, agree with the locally determined distance scale, and have masses consistent with all existing dynamical estimates. Surface photometry of the outer portions of the lens galaxy G1 show that it is well fit by a deVaucouleurs profile and is a typical brightest cluster elliptical.
