The holographic recording of phase-volume gratings on dichromated
gelatin films designed for operation in a grazing-incidence scheme is
studied. Some features of grazing diffraction by phase-volume gratings
are discussed. The achieved diffraction efficiency amounts to about 30
percent at an 88-deg angle of incidence.
