Preliminary results are reported for a survey of two regions of the sky performed with a sensitivity of approximately 0.05 K in order to search for high-velocity clouds of neutral hydrogen (HVCs). The first region surveyed was a 1 x 1 deg grid centered on M31 and extending from 100 to 140 deg galactic longitude and from -45 to zero deg latitude, while the second region was a 2 x 1 deg grid centered on a HVC complex and ranging from 140 to 180 deg longitude and from -60 to -30 deg latitude. It is found that: (1) there is a large number of HVCs with a very high velocity of about -400 km/s in the first region; (2) all the objects detected have negative velocities, strongly indicating that many of them are extragalactic and members of the Local Group; (3) the high-velocity features in both regions have a velocity of about 230 km/s toward the Galaxy, suggesting the existence of two streams; and (4) the profile halfwidths are generally between 25 and 30 km/s. Masses of the order of 50 million solar masses and dimensions of a few tens of kiloparsecs are estimated for assumed distances of the order of 0.5 Mpc to the objects.
