Theoretical studies suggest that a phase transition from a hadron state to a quark-gluon plasma state could occur at the high temperature and high density conditions produced in high-energy heavy-ion collisions. Experimental results on a high-multiplicity cosmic-ray event observed in a Chinese satellite emulsion are presented. The incident energy and the type of projectile particle are estimated using the Castagnoli method and the effective nuclear interaction model.
