This paper studies the temperature and density distributions of the transition zone and inner corona in two cases: (1) the action of mechanical waves (e.g. Alfvén waves) in a self-consistent theoretical model; (2) the solution of the energy equilibrium equation by assuming that the upper corona is heated by mechanical wave energy; but the lower part is heated by conduction, while cooling is by radiation. We make a comparison between two models corresponding to the above two cases. Calculations show that in our case collisionless Alfvén waves formed in the bottom of the transition zone can only transfer upward to about one scale height, and the pressure in the transition region decreases with height.
