In view of future cometary missions such as CNSR, the orbits of candidate comets should be well known. To this purpose, it is necessary to have the orbit covered by a substantial number of astrometric observations. The author tries to identify some problems related to and some preparations to be undertaken for an observing campaign of target comets.
