I shall give a very brief summary of the status of the Swift mission after launch. Except for a failure of the active cooling of the CCD of the X-ray telescope XRT), all the instrumentation after activation is working according to specification. The failure of the active cooling did not affect the performance of the instrument. The Burst Alert Telescope is performing in a superlative mode. Remarkable is the capability of the spacecraft in pointing the target soon after the trigger. This enables the XRT to start observations in less than 2 minutes after the trigger and gather data during the tail of the prompt and at the very beginning of the afterglow. In addition to the image of the first light with XRT, I shall show the X-ray light curve of one of the many GRBs we observed.
