Gamma Vel is the perfect lab to test the existence of clumping in stellar winds of massive, early-type stars. It is the closest WR+O system (260 pc) and radio emission at a flux level greater than 30 mJy has been detected from it at 8.64 GHz (Chapman et al. 1999). The source appeared just resolved. New 12h observations of its thermal stellar winds with the CA, at the 12mm band, will gather a larger flux, and the 2-times better angular resolution will allow to look for structures in the wind above 0.1 mJy, of AU in extension. The success of this experiment will be a direct proof of wind clumpiness. The project forsees subsequent observations at the 3mm band.
