Software for correcting and processing echelle spectrograms is developed. Without knowing them a priori, the geometric deformations of these spectrograms are obtained. The algorithms can be implemented in a minicomputer with a capability of 128 Kbytes. The time for reducing one spectrum is less than 6 min. The accuracy of the method in wavelength calibration is approximately 0.01 A, which corresponds to an inaccuracy of 0.65 km/s in radial velocity (at 4600 A). It is noted that this is smaller than that given by other methods. The method described here does not require a microdensitometer programmed for curve following.
