The standard reference for high-resolution, visual spectra of late- type stars is the Griffin Arcturus atlas. This atlas, covering 3600- 8825 Å, exemplifies the best of photographic spectroscopy as mastered in the mid-1960's. We propose to reobserve the 3500-9000 Aspectrum of Arcturus at high spectral resolution with a CCD detector. From this data and integrated disk solar spectra, we propose to produce an atlas of the solar flux spectrum and the Arcturus spectrum. These spectra will be published in book form and will be made available digitally. The spectral features will be identified.
