The 'core-halo' model is applied to the extended components of extragalactic radio sources. The region of injection (acceleration) of relativistic electrons is identified with a 'hot spot' and is supposedly moving, which explains the asymmetry of the radio-lobes. With allowance made for synchrotron losses, the diffusion approximation is used to determine the distributions of the spectral indices over the lobe and break in the spectrum. The knot structure of jets is studied using M 87 as an example.
