We propose to observe the core of M3 for 8 orbits spaced over a time of 24 hours with the WFPC2 camera and F336W, F555W, and F814W filters. We intend to study the blue straggler sequence with the resulting high precision color-magnitude and color-color diagrams. We will also seach for variability among the blue stragglers and upper main sequence stars, and search for a binary star sequence to the red of the main sequence. These data, combined with a similar data set to be obtained with the WIYN telescope from the outer regions of the clusters, should answer crucial questions about the unusual blue straggler sequence and the stellar dynamics of M3.
