One of the most exciting results in physics in recent years has been the discovery that the Universe's expansion rate is actually accelerating, apparently driven by some kind of repulsive dark energy. Here I briefly review the evidence for dark energy, the leading candidates for explaining it, and some of the experiments which may help us determine its nature.
