We present a correlation technique for determination of the dispersion relation of plasma waves from multi-point satellite measurements. We focus on the observations of wave phenomena by four closely spaced satellites as provided by the CLUSTER II experiment which allow to reconstruct the direction and the magnitude of the k-vector. The technique is based on wavelet phase correlations between pairs of satellites and vector properties of the magnetic field. The application of this method is demonstrated on low frequency magnetic field data from the STAFF experiment of the CLUSTER II experiment. Special attention is paid to the cases where the satellite separation exceeds the wavelength of the observed waves and ambiguities in the phase correlations arise.
